Jack and the beanstalk

These are the patterns that we are going to follow to work with Jack and the beanstalk in third grade:

Firstly, we are going to read two pages in class every day.

Secondly, the students are going to think up some questions to work with these pages. The teacher helps them to formulate those questions. For example: the teacher is going to ask:

  • What did Jack sell?

  • Jack sold a cow.

Then, the teacher is going to present an activity where the children are going to match sentences with the people who said them.

Finally, the teacher is going to make some flashcards with the scenes of the story.

Then, the teacher is going to group the class in four groups of five students, depending on the number of students in the class. They are going to order the scenes. The winner group will have a symbolic gift, magic beans.

In this way, the students are going to work on empathy, the fellowship. Moreover, the children are going to be able to express, work in groups and reach conclusions.

ITC: The last activity is elaborated with “Classtools”.

The children must make a game with the “Classtools” page. The students will perform with the questions that they choose during the reading activity in class.

Before that, we must explain how the program is used to avoid problems. In this way, we explain the usage of ITC as the creativity development.
